We are like most Christians in the US, having been raised in various protestant denominations and Catholicism. We grew up being told what to believe and continued thinking we knew the truth until discovering for ourselves what the Bible teaches. Then everything changed; we changed. Now with eyes that see and ears that hear, our mission is to show others what we have found, the marvel, the mystery and the mayhem. We believe the Christian world is in deep trouble, and they don't even know it.
We are not an organization and everyone who contributes to this blog is a volunteer. We endorse no denomination. We fellowship with one another through this blog and email correspondence. We acknowledge that most churches are businesses, some with staggering wealth. They have buildings to maintain, a product to deliver, money to collect, wages to be paid, good works programs to promote, and a clientele they need to keep happy; but many of these denominations are losing customers. We believe we know why.
We don't want your money or to sell you anything. We are self-funded. Our only goal is to share what God has shown us, something difficult to find in mainstream Christianity: sound doctrine. The gospel taught by most churches is incomplete and lacks elements necessary for salvation. The real truth the Bible teaches has been deliberately altered and obscured, and to our sadness, we find many Christians preferring it that way. Our mission is to reach the few that Jesus spoke of in Matthew 7:14, "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."
Why do we use 1John as a website name? We find in the entire book of 1John a very beautiful description of what it means to be a true Christian, and we zoom in on 1John 2:28-3:10 where it describes what it means to be "Children of God". We believe that when Jesus said we must be born-again to enter the kingdom, that apostle John absolutely nails it in his description of our new life in the Spirit. Read it for yourself and see if you agree. If you don’t, and feel so inclined, let us know your thoughts. That is what we are all about, an open discussion about sound doctrine. YF
We welcome your comments and questions and even criticisms when submitted in a respectful manner. God be with you all! YF
